Engaging directly with schools and colleges is one of the most effective ways in which employers can help shape education today to meet the skills needs of tomorrow. The IoD is fully behind this campaign.”
Miles Templeman, Director General of the Institute of Directors

The worlds of work and education are closely linked so it's great to see businesses supporting local schools. We hope employers will use Visit Our Schools Week to encourage staff to get involved by taking time off to volunteer at nearby schools.”
Brendan Barber, TUC General Secretary

There is much that school and business leaders can learn from each other. Visit our Schools provides a fast-track opportunity for everyone to expand their knowledge and skills. The BCC encourage their members to use this rare opportunity to learn about how they can engage directly with education to boost skills of both existing staff and potential young recruits.”
David Frost, Director General of the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry

I have always been impressed by the quality and depth of engagement that can be achieved between schools and employers, which has huge benefits both for children and young people and for employees; but best practice is not universal, and there are still too many schools and employers who are not actively involved. The Visit Our Schools week will provide, I hope, a further stimulus both to schools and to to employers, large and small, to work together where, perhaps, they have not done so before.”
John Freeman, CBE, Director, React Programme

When schools and colleges work well with employers, everyone gains. Through the Campaign we can drive up awareness of the real benefits of partnership and showcase the work of EBPOs which, across the country, are ready to turn interest and enthusiasm into effective and sustainable partnerships.”
Declan Swan, Chief Executive, Institute for Education Business Excellence

Being a head teacher is like being a CEO, there are many parallels, which is why we should share our knowledge and expertise to benefit both young people and the wider economic community.”
Anne Evans OBE, Chief Executive HTI

To really understand today's education system, business leaders need to visit schools and have open and practical conversations with head teachers and young people. This will ensure their businesses then work most effectively with the school to help build the pupils' skills and aspirations.”
Peter Lambert, OBE, Deputy Chief Executive of Business in the Community (BITC)
