Many employers already work with schools and colleges because it’s an effective way of:

Many more are interested, but can find it difficult to know where to get started and who’s there to help.

Visit our Schools week makes it easy for employers to:

It will only require 2 hours of your time in October.

Visit our Schools: How it works

Research shows classroom teachers, school and college leaders would love to see greater involvement from employers across school life.

That’s why over the week of 18-22 October they will be inviting CEOs, MDs and other senior decision-makers from private, public and third sector employers of all sizes to visit and find out more.

By registering on the Visit our Schools and Colleges website, we will match you with local schools and colleges serving children people aged 5 to 19. We will match you ourselves or through a volunteer local partner and agree a time and date for the visit. You may have a specific school in mind, want to work a particular age group or get involved in a priority activity like mentoring, workplace visits, classroom presentations or helping the CPD of teachers. Registration just takes two minutes.

Before the visit, all participants will receive guidance highlighting priority areas for partnership: the National Framework . To find out more about the priority activities and how they can benefit young people, visit the Employers' Guide to working with Schools and Colleges

Trade unions are big employers in their own right and Learning Representatives are well placed to influence volunteering and closer working with schools, therefore we welcome their involvement in Visit our Schools week. The TUC is a major supporter of Visit our Schools.
